Majorca Beaches

The big reason for your Majorca holiday!

The Majorca beaches are impossible to ignore. Sandy bays and rocky coves means you have plenty of choice of where to swim in the crystal clear Mediterranean.

Majorca Beach: A Rocky OneAnd visiting the beach can often bring pleasant surprises: I remember one year my family and I rented a boat in Majorca and decided to go for a dip.

After putting our snorkeling masks on, I looked down into the water and noticed a glitter in between the sea weed. One of us dived down and came across a pearl.

When I went snorkeling off Puerto Vaise, after swimming for half an hour the sea bed was about 35 feet (40 meters) under us.

After looking down again and going up to catch our breath, we swam down and what we thought we saw was real. A pretty big sting ray! It was a great sight at a safe distance.

Majorca Beach SunsetBEWARE: You have to be careful of jellyfish at some of the beaches.

Make sure you read the signs so that you´re aware of what may be in the sea. I found that after a storm, when the sea is covered with seaweed, jellyfish are likely to lie beneath it.

They aren’t that common, but I have been stung a few times, that is over eighteen years, so not too bad.

There are First Aiders and lifeguards on all the beaches that will be there to make sure you have a pleasant time...and where are all these Beaches?

Majorca Beaches Map

There are several private beaches on Majorca.

The Spanish royal family have their holidays here, Roman Abramovich has anchored his yacht off Mallorca, and even Paris Hilton is a fan of the place. So in short, the rich and famous are always looking for places to escape to, the beaches that most autograph hunters and paparazzi can’t reach.

Puro has its own private spot, Purobeach out at Ca’n Pastilla, for patrons who want a break from city life. It’s free to guests, but non-guests can also pay for the privilege of sitting in the sun here. Indulge yourself with comfy recliners, spa treatments, a pool, tunes courtesy of a DJ, a bar and some stunning views over Palma Bay.

Down at Illetes, to the west of Palma, Virtual Club offers a private beach with cabanas. Moet virtually on tap, more posh sun loungers and table service. There’s a restaurant and nightclub too, if you want to stay on after the sun sets.
