Majorca summer
Majorca summer is the busiest term of the year, tourists arrive and classical and jazz festivals occur.
JuneThe Majorcins celebrate St John on the 24th of June which begins on the 23rd by partying on the Nit de Sant Joan. This event is a busy time for Palma, along with concerts, fire running and partying until the early hours, it could be the year’s biggest event. In honour of St Peter which is the patron saint of Port d’Alcudia, the town holds the festival de Sant Pere.
July On the 16th of July the islands coast celebrates the patron saint of fishers and sailors during the Festa de la Verge del Carme. The Festa de la Beata is held on the 28th of July which is in honour of the village of Valldemossa’s Santa Catalina Thomas. August August is full of dynamics, tone and rhythm. Musical Festivals including the Chopin which is hosted in Valldemossa’s Cartoixa which is a classical and the Majorca Jazz Festival which is held in Sa Pobla, definitely makes August the musical month.
Festivals are galore in August. The town of Arta hosts the Festa de Sant Salvador and on the 24th of this month the Patron Saint of Montuiri is celebrated during the Festa de Sant Bartomeau. As well as the festivals, the feast day of Sant Roc is celebrated in Alaro on the 16th of August.
