Travel to Majorca
Arrive by air or ferry, or maybe by sailboat...
Travel to Majorca is convenient, easy and for those living in Europe, particularly inexpensive. Flights are numerous and ferries from the mainland are frequent...and you could always sail over to Majorca by yourself. You may also be one of those lucky ones to stop over while on a Mediterranean cruise ship...then you would only be visiting for a short time.
Millions of people travel to Majorca every year, and many make it their home away from home. When arriving on the island by air, I would recommend
car rental Palma Airport.
During the summer, Palma airport is one of the busiest in Europe.

Airports
Majorca’s airport, Sant Joan Airport is approximately 8km (5miles) from the city of Palma. The airport was completed in 1935 and since then the number of people arriving at the airport has grown to 20 million a year. Countries that do not have direct flights to Palma, you could land at an airport in Europe and buy a low cost flight to the Sant Joan Airport.

Ferry
There are two ferries available that operate between Ibiza, Barcelona, Valencia, and Menorca, travel to Majorca either by the fast ferry or the normal ferry, the normal ferry is more reliable in bad weather as the fast ferry could get cancelled.

There are often cruise ships moored in Palma’s port, a great sight. If you are staying in either Palma Nova or Magaluf by the beach, you will be able to see the ferries and the cruise ships entering Palma’s port. When family and friends were coming over via the ferry, I used to see the ferry arriving at Palma and then be able to calculate how long they would take to arrive at the apartment. There are two ports, Alcudia and Palma which is known for being the deepest port in Europe. The three ferry companies are Balearia, Acciona and Iscomar.
