The wildlife comes out in Spring. This is the best time for bird watching while wild flowers fill the fields.

Autumn in Majorca: The island begins to calm down after the busy summer, but this can be the time for couples or small groups to get away for a few days. The weather is cooler and if you're interested in birds, this is a great time to view migrating birds in the Parc Natural de S’Allbufera.

Majorca Off Season - Unveil the
Adventurer in You!

By Larry Austin

Majorca, which is also called Mallorca in some quarters, is an island teeming with excitement and fun activities. Whilst many usually prefer to visit a destination during the peak season, Majorca is one of those rare destinations that is still exuberant and is in the holiday mood 365 days of the year.

Always catering to those who are full of joie de vivre, Majorca is a rock climber's paradise. Off season may actually be the best time to visit this haven of sorts. Besides being able to enjoy the Mediterranean sun and environs, the off season portends discounted accommodation and cheap flights which makes a visit to this beatific island an alluring proposition. A convenient location, hotels in Majorca are easy to find and cater to all budgets.

Besides having an opportunity to stay in rural properties which are part of rural tourism, tourists could also go on guided walks that have different themes throughout the island. It certainly is a more detailed opportunity to experience a wondrous culture. A culture that touts a history with strong links to the Roman Empire. Even during the off season, Majorca also offers during the off season a visit to the Tramutana mountain range which has two refuges namely the Tossals Verds and Muleta open.

Even during the most inactive period of the year, tourists will be able to partake in many activities such as golf. The island boasts well over 20 courses that are in operation at present, the most notable being the Golf Park Puntirò and the Son Muntaner. Even for the most extroverted of tourists, during the week any time of the year, any of the villages or towns showcases their home grown produce. Examples such as the Santa Maria (Sunday), Sineu (Wednesday and Inca (Thursday) are by far the most popular.

Palma and Magaluf purportedly has the best beaches in this fascinating isle. Attractive to tourists throughout the year, many attractions such as deep sea diving, water sports and sunbathing offer a well needed respite for visitors desiring to get away from the stress of everyday life. Many of the Palma hotels are also near to the beach; hereby visiting Palma offers some visitors more of an incentive.

Even for the aficionado of fine art, visiting Majorca anytime of the year is fine. Especially since places such as the Ca N'Alluny Finca built by Robert Graves, the British poet is available for public viewing. The Palma Catherdral and Jakober Art Foundation and Gardens - Alcudia are also places that are fascinating attractions.

Many consider Majorca to be the most visited tourist destination for the last 100 years. And although the peak season is during the summer months, Majorca offer over 300 days of the year which are full of sunshine hence off season per se is a very attractive proposition.

One must also make note of the party lifestyle here in Magaluf. Besides having many night spots to visit, the local cuisine is truly exemplary. Dishes such as the llom amb col and lechona asada have to be tried out. Close to where the action is, there are many Magaluf hotels which are comfy and versatile. Discounted rates during the off season are a real possibility.
